Tales from the Front (16) tells the story of William Albert Pounds, a Bournemouth-born man who fought in the Great War. Pounds, a professional soldier, died in the fighting around Ploegsteert (‘Plugstreet’) Wood, part of the 1st Battle of Ypres, on November 1st, 1914.

Tales from the Front (14) tells the story of George Francis Slade Hague, a Bournemouth native who fought in the Great War. Hague (sometimes known as Egg) enlisted with the 1st Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment. He served in India before the war, but fell in Flanders at Ypres.
